The year was 2004. Norwood High School was headed to the state playoffs for the first time in like, 20 years. I was a sophomore JV cornerback heading to the movie theater with the rest of the team to watch Friday Night Lights. Life was good (I mean, minus the relentless bullying I endured but that’s a story for another time). But, there is more than nostalgia that makes this movie great in my eyes.
